Thanks goes out to Tyler Gunter and all the staff at Elko Broadcasting, 1240 AM KELK and 93.7 Jack FM, for their continued support of the Thomas Scott foundation and this year's memorial!

More thanks to send out....thanks to the staff at 95.3 FM KRJC radio for helping the TSF with a radio PSA. We appreciate all the years of suport given by Holiday Broadcasting of Elko. Thanks from the TSF!

Moreover...

Tournament proceeds benefit many organizations. In past years, the Thomas Scott Foundation has awarded monies to Great Basin College by means of a memorial scholarship to students, Spring Creek Golf Course Junior Golf Program and other organizations that demonstrate the TSF’s mission statement, “To further academic and athletic opportunities for the youth of Elko County.”

Earlier this year the TSF made a commitment to continue assisting the Junior Golf Program. "The donations will be used for equipment and resources associated with the program", said Spring Creek Golf Course Professional and program coordinator Jason Jerman, "We really appreciate all the help the volunteers have given us these last years. It's a fun tournament for a great cause."

Besides the Junior Golf program, the committee has donated to the Igloo organization, the Spring Creek High School Golf Team, the Gamble Oak Pony Club, the Cinderella Scholarship Pageant, Sage Elementary School, Spring Creek Trap and Skeet, and Adopt a Family among others.

The Thomas Scott Memorial Golf Tournament is dedicated to and held in memory of Mr. Thomas Scott. An Elkoan for many years and underground miner for Newmont Mining Corporation, Thomas J. Scott was just 30 years old when he was suddenly taken from his family and friends in a tragic accident on January 9, 2001. Tom is survived by his wife, son and many friends who miss him. The tournament is the committee’s way of memorializing Thomas for his love of family, friends and life. Tom was not only a loving family man but an active member of the community.

The Thomas Scott Foundation is a proud member of the Elko Area Chamber of Commerce since 2005!

Thomas Scott, inspiration for the TSM Golf Tournament.
